Parent groups

Parents' Place

A completely parent-run, non-profit organization that provides educational programming and support to preschool children ages one to five, and their parents.

Mothers of PreSchoolers (MOPS)

A MOPS meeting includes practical teaching through speakers, demonstrations and videos. Plus, there's usually food... food you didn't make! But more important, you'll get to have honest conversations with other moms who understand the joys and frustrations of motherhood. From the time you get pregnant to when your kiddo is in Kindergarten, our doors are open.

Local Parks & Playgrounds

Krepps Park

Krepps Park is a 36 acre park with 20 of those acres wooded with trails.  This unique green space includes an outdoor swimming pool with children's aquatic area, a pavilion, numerous picnic sites, dog park and other amenities.

Marilla Park

Marilla Park, home to the Marilla Recreation Center and Marilla Skate Park, is a 45-acre multipurpose area that also includes an outdoor pool with two water slides, youth baseball fields, tennis courts and basketball courts. Decker's Creek Trail access is also available at Marilla Park.

White Park

White Park, also the home of the Morgantown Ice Arena, is a 170-acre park that serves as a hub for many athletic activities.  The park includes four adult softball fields and two youth baseball fields.  Five miles of wooded trails interspersed throughout the park are used by hikers, bikers and wildlife enthusiasts.

Dorsey's Knob Park

Sky Rock, in Dorsey's Knob Park, stands nearly 600 feet above a landscape of deep valleys and tall pines, providing a picturesque view of greater Morgantown and the surrounding area.  The 70 acre park, located adjacent to U.S. 119, is right outside of downtown Morgantown, but miles away from the hustle and bustle of the small city surrounding it.  It is because of this comforting, country feel that many are drawn to the park and to Dorsey's Knob Lodge.

With trails throughout, a disc golf course and interactive playground, Dorsey's Knob Park is worth a visit or a more regular get-away.

Jack Roberts Park

Jack Roberts Park is named in honor of one of the late founding fathers of BOPARC.  The four acre park has become the popular year round gathering spot for adults and children in this close-knit neighborhood.

Hazel Ruby McQuain Park

Hazel Ruby McQuain Park and Amphitheater remains one of BOPARC's premire summer fun facilities. The Park is home to annual local festivals, the original home of BOPARC's Movies on the Mon series, concerts and host to several organized runs and walks during all seasons.  Trail access is easy from this park and the cherry blossoms of spring are a welcome site to locals ready to get back out into nature after a long winter.

The amphitheater itself is available for rental and many have utilized this unique venue for weddings and other events.

WVU Medicine Waterfront Web Park

Situated adjacent to the Caperton Trail and in front of the Marriott at Waterfront Place, this park pairs the revolutionary EVOS play structure and multi-piece Fit Stations providing a perfect trail stop for adults and children.

Pocket Parks

Little slices of greenspace make paradise for neighborhoods and BOPARC manages several of these throughout our community.  Whether it be a picnic table in a wooded area, a basketball court, fishing or just a quiet place to re-focus these neighborhood "pocket" parks have a great deal to offer.

Paul Preserve

Jerome Park and Mayfield Park have been combined into a three-acre greenspace in the southeastern portion of Morgantown named the Paul Preserve.  It contains a basketball court and a picnic area.

King Street Mini Park

King Street Mini Park is a little more than one acre neighborhood open field space in the South Park area and a delight for spontaneous neighborhood recreational activities.

South University Avenue Park - Mountaineer Heritage Park

A great place for some green space retreat time when you need to re-focus or just catch a breath of fresh air.

MEA Fishing Pier
